We are always looking for mature, professional, and trustworthy people to
join our team. We are only looking for permanent part-time and occasionally,
full-time commitments. The services we offer will prove to be a wonderful
opportunity to spend time with a variety of animals. The relationships that
you build with each pet will quickly evolve into spectacular friendships!
We operate 7 days, 365/year but because of business model with preset and
rotating schedules, we are able to offer:
Part time positions
Negotiable hours that fit your schedule (agreed upon hiring)
Paid vacation time
Sick and personal days
Strong, competitive wages
Weekly and annual incentives
Holiday pay
We have three phases of service, all of which will require travel by you as
this is a house call pet care service:
- Pet Care Visits:
These are non-routine visits that take place at specific
times while clients travel for work or pleasure and leave their pets to be
cared for by us. These visits typically take place between 7-9AM 11-2PM
5-10PM 7 days a week.
- Daily Dog Walks:
Routine walks for the same clients at the same times day
in and day out. This service requires someone that can be free in the middle
of the day, M-F. Most Walks occur between 11AM and 3PM
Availability is not only important but required for this position. You must
be available for the following should your service be called upon:
Early mornings
Late evenings
Mid days
Weekends
Holidays
We realize this is essentially "all the time", however with our team model
and rotating schedules, these times will not be required all at once. Prior
to employment, we will attempt to MATCH your availability with our various
services. We do have higher demand in certain services and your availability
within will reflect positively on your application.
We require these personal qualifications:
You -
...are an adult, with work experience
...Have experience handling a variety of animals - in a professional or
volunteer capacity is recommended, but not required
...Are punctual, organized, fluent in English, with the ability to follow
detailed instructions
...Are comfortable in social situations, with an ability to relate to others
in a genuine and friendly manner
...An ability to make adjustments to schedules and mindset on the go. There
are many working parts and changes happen all the time.
...Own a reliable, insured vehicle with an understanding that driving is a
necessary aspect of this job
...Have a cell phone with unlimited SMS/MMS capabilities. If you do not, upon
employment otherwise, you will be fitted with a company cell phone, but must
be able to learn its functions
...Have a computer with internet access. Upon employment we will give you a
new email account, but you must be able to access it at any time
...Have both respectable personal and professional references
...Are willing and able to work any of the 7 days of the week + holidays, and
in the capacity of at least 1 of the 3 services outlined above (Pet Care
Visit, Daily Dog Walk, Overnights)
...Have a clean driving record and can pass a formal background check
including drug test
...Live within our service area
...Are or are willing to become pet/CPR certified (paid for by HSH Pet Care)

your co-workers will not be tolerated. All in house issues are handled by

Some of the services that our team members will perform:

required for employment
- Walk, exercise, play with and brush pets even during inclement weather
- Pick up after pets including pet messes, muddy feet, wet dogs etc.
- Cleaning sections of a home that you have used whether it be from muddy
boots, muddy dogs, or a weeks worth of in-home petsitting. We leave homes as
we found them if not better

This job is not for just anyone who likes animals. That of course is a
requirement but understand that there is much more to the responsibilities
associated with animal care than just petting and playing. We must treat
every animal as if it were someone's only child, because for our clientele, it
is. We must respect every client's privacy and security when dealing with
their home. We must have a basic understanding of animal behavior in efforts
to keep our pet clients safe as much as ourselves. Understanding body
language and considering a pets environment when handling them can be
detrimental to their good health and well being as much as ours. We are
looking for team members who are of strong moral character, with conscience
of the unsatisfactory but desire to excel.
If the above is something that interests you, please fill out the
application below. We will review it and contact you when appropriate. Thank
you, and we hope to see you at our next HSH Pet Care Team Meeting!
