Chris and Meg Raimo
Chris Raimo and Meg DesRocher grew up in East Windsor, CT only a few winding miles from each other though we did not know it. Throughout our respective childhoods, we cared for many a healthy and sick animal, from Boxers and Beagles, to Saint Bernards, gerbils, cats, and finches...or fishes as the case might be. We have always had an affinity toward animals and when we found each other, that affinity grew into a bond that holds us together to this day. Once free to share our love for animals without having to justify our priorities to others, we began a family of our own. Brady & Chunka-Chunk our American Staffordshire brothers, Nina, our adopted Staffybull sister, and Lennon, our 2-day old rescued kitten, have made our home the happiest place on earth.

Meg has been working with pets for nearly ten years, and from grooming salons, to kenneling facilities, to professional dog walking and petsitting, has been a purveyor of the pet care industry. Chris has worked for many small businesses and with a hat full of experience gathered from behind the scenes, has worked diligently on a business plan for our newest venture, Home Sweet Home Pet Care. We are First Aid trained in emergency pet care and CPR through the American Red Cross, and come to each of our clients with a long list of references and ready to answer any questions they might have. Together, we hope to make everyone's pet-filled home as happy and cooky as our own.

The Family:

Brady, Brady Bum, Bum-a-lum, Buddah, Buddah Butt

Brady

Brady is the prodigal son. Born of American Staffordshire Terrier parents, Mystic and Manson, he is our baby. He was the first to leave the litter and for 7 years now, has been our pride and joy. He is the alpha male, but has made it known so in a subtle, yet defined manner. Too kind and sensitive to force his will, he is somehow instinctively respected as the interpreter between the pack and the pack leaders (us). He is the one to bark when they are ready to come in from the yard, he is the one to say when they are hungry, and he is the one who makes the rounds at the end of the night.

The 'investigator' as we often call him, makes his rounds a few times a day, securing the grounds, checking for intruding squirrels and rustling leaves. He doesn't like when spiders race across the floor and he intercepts them immediately. He loves to swim, chase the sprinkler water, and has even been known to jump, unabbated, into the shower. If you are ever so fortunate to meet Brady, don't just shake his hand when he gives you his paw, chances are, he's looking for a foot massage.

Nina Peanut, Beana Bean, Missa Peanut, Little One, Queenie, or Princess Peanutcup

Nina

Nina is our second, a little Staffybull that we adopted when she was about three. Princess Peanutcup, as she responds to most frequently, cannot be bothered with her brothers struggle for affection, or their macho machismo attitudes. She does her thing when she wants to do her thing and lives quite content being the pampered queenie that she was born to be. She is the first to turn in at night and the last to rise in the morning. On summer days she can no doubt be found in the back yard working on her tan, and on those rainy New England stretches, will almost certainly curl up in front of the fireplace.
The Queen WILL NOT rise from bed until The Queen is ready.
The Queen WILL NOT touch the ground if it is wet.
The Queen WILL NOT eat dry food
The Queen WILL NOT consort with the antics of her brothers
The Queen WILL NOT swim more than 10 feet from the riverbank to fetch a stick
The Queen WILL NOT be transported in anything other than the front seat
The Queen WILL ALWAYS be referred to as, The Queen or Your Highness

Trunks, Trunka, Chunka-Chunk, Chunka-Fat, Trunkie-Bunkie, Bunka-Boo, Dunka-Doo, Tatanka, The Legend of the White Spotted Buffalo, Knucklehead

Trunks- Swim in Peace

It is a sad time in our family, as tragically, Trunks was laid to rest on Wednesday, April 30th. Trunks (named for a brindle pattern that covers the legs and waist of his otherwise white coat) was the third canine to join our family. He will always be Brady's brother, rescued from a disheartening situation elsewhere, and who came to us for help. He was the family jester, the clown, the knucklehead, the one who made us laugh more than anyone else, and it will never be the same without him. Plowing into the water on swim days (his absolute favorite thing to do), knocking coffee tables over in an attempt to chase down reflective light, snarfing brownie mix until his wet snout created chocolate batter, and doing the Chunka Dance before eating were all aspects of Trunks', slightly left of center personality. His brother and sister miss him dearly, and his parents know there will never be another Chunka-Chunk quite like him. He truly is the Legend of the White Spotted Buffalo. We Love You Trunks- Now swim to your hearts content in the Big Blue River in the Sky...

Lennon, Shadow-Stalker-Ninja Cat, Cat-in-a-Box (Where there's a box, there's the cat)

Lennon

Lennon was a 2 day old furball who was abandoned by her mother one rainy morning. Meg found her in her parent's driveway and vowed to save her life, even though Chris was allergic. After weeks of dropper feedings and bath dippings, potty training, and socialization with the dogs, Lennon has grown into a wonderful, spunky, Shadow-Stalker-Ninja-Cat. Looming in the shadows of our home, her brother and sister dogs are on constant alert for a playful swipe from their little sister. Truth be told, she runs the house. A statement no more certified than by the scene of three pitbulls waiting anxiously in the morning at the top of the master bedroom stairs, for the Ninja Cat to abandon her post 3 steps down. And miraculously, Chris' allergies ceased-
